Branden Effland, P.E., Water Resources Engineer

Mr. Effland has more than nine years of water resource consulting experience. His
work has included hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage infrastructure design,
water rights evaluations, and reservoir spillway design. He has experience with
several hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality models.
Mr. Effland has conducted hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and completed drainage
planning and design for several transportation, land development, and capital
improvement projects. His work included design of numerous drainage related
structures including bridges, culverts, inlets, and channels, as well as
authoring preliminary and final hydraulic reports. Mr. Effland has also utilized
HEC-RAS to perform floodplain modeling, mapping, and FEMA permitting.
Mr. Effland has performed computer modeling of water supply systems,
including distribution systems, storage systems, operations of water rights on
surface streams, and operational analysis of supplies and demands. Other computer
modeling experience includes development and use of hydraulic models for surface
flows in channels, as well as for determining historical use of water rights.
More recently, Mr. Effland has assisted the City of Aurora with their lawn irrigation
return flow (LIRF) study as well as authored numerous substitute water supply plans for
the City of Aurora's Prairie Waters Project.
