Franklin Mine - Hydrologic and Hydraulic Design Idaho Springs, Colorado Deere & Ault Consultants, Inc. teamed with Shannon & Wilson to provide as-needed professional
services to the State of Colorado, Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety (DRMS) for the State's Abandoned
and Inactive Mine Reclamation Program. Deere & Ault is responsible for the hydrologic and hydraulic
evaluations and design of hydraulic structures associated with these reclamation requests.
Deere & Ault provided engineering services for the Franklin Mine north of Idaho Springs.
The drainage plan provides for the redesign of existing conveyance channels with rock riprap revetment and drop
structures for stormwater flows through the mine property. The drainage plan also provides for construction of
a new drainage channel adjacent to proposed site grading.
Grouted sloping boulder drop structures were designed in accordance with Urban Drainage and Flood Control District
design guidelines.
